10 Week Rapsodo® Hitting Program

Program Details:

New this year, our 10 week hitting programs will now be Powered by Rapsodo! Each player will receive a Rapsodo account where athletes can track their progress, as well as, see videos of their swing! Over the 10 weeks, athletes will be tested several times with all data available on the account.

Additionally, athletes will be placed in working groups based on age and skillset so the instruction can be more individualized. Athletes start and progress at different stages and this will ensure the instruction will be appropriate and advance each athlete

This program will cover all aspects of hitting. Below is more information on what to expect:

Proper Equipment: Offer advice on bat size and length.
Plate Presence: Explaining body placement in box.
Hitting Mechanics: Improve the mechanics involved in hitting, optimizing a player’s bat speed and time spent in the hitting zone.
Tee Work: Break down the mechanics of a swing. (Ex. Inside, Outside, Middle, Extension, Contact)
Front Toss: Timing a moving pitch. Translating our tee work mechanics to a ball in motion.
Live Pitching: Hitting off of a pitcher similar to game speed experience.
Situational Hitting: Learning the scenarios that are encountered in each at bat.
Pre and Post Testing: Using Stalker Radar Guns or Rapsodo Hitting Technology to measure improvement throughout the 10 weeks.

Pitching Programs

5 Week

This program will cover proper warm up routine and pitching form with corrections to reduce the risk of injury. The instructors will assist with increasing pitchers softball IQ and explaining the importance of the battery communication. Also covered, but not limited to:

Arm Care: Pre/post pitching exercises for strengthening and injury prevention.
Basic Pitching Mechanics: Series of throwing exercises to help ensure proper mechanics & strengthen muscle groups in arm.
Pitch Development: Establishing command and development of pitches, primarily a speed and off-speed pitch.
Pitch Selection: Help pitchers understand the mental side of pitching — what pitches to throw and when. Challenge the athletes to up their softball IQ.
Pitchers Fielding Practice: Teaching proper ways to field position, along with base coverages or backups.

Softball Practice Player Program

*Instructional workouts begin the week of October 6th and end the week of March 9th*

Off Season Instructional Program Overview:

The ISA Practice Player program is designed for athletes who want to train at ISA like an ISA Travel team player, but without the requirement to play for an ISA team. This program allows athletes to play for a summer team of their choice.

Marucci Sports is an official partner of Impact Sports Academy and through our partnership, ISA is able to offer an exclusive discount on Marucci products. Each player will be provided access to our Marucci website to order merchandise, baseball equipment and gear.

In the event an ISA Travel Team would need a player due to any unforeseen circumstance, ISA practice players will be the first to be considered. This opportunity may be a one weekend fill-in or as a full-time player.

Practice Players receive:

1.5 hour practice each week
Option to add a second practice night per week at additional cost of $500. Please email support@impactsportsgb.com to set up.
Defense, hitting, pitching, catching, and base running all covered in a team setting
Rapsodo® Hitting testing to measure progression
- Each player receives personal Rapsodo® account
Practice Player shirt and hat
Open Gym access during duration of training program; dates/hours vary based on facility availability
17U/18U Athletes will receive recruiting highlight video and consultations as applicable

There will be no make ups for weather cancellations.

Total Program Cost: $1,550

Due on acceptance of spot: $500

Remaining Balance: $150/month for 7 consecutive months (Sept - March)

Advanced Performance Training (APT)

We are in year 4 of our ISA Advanced Performance Training (APT) program. This program is offered for baseball and softball athletes ages 12U - 18U!

APT has grown from an after-school workout into a full-fledged speed/weight training program. Built into two ten-week phases, ATP is set to mimic a true professional offseason.

All athletes will have two scheduled performance training sessions in addition to their team practices and general performance training. All high school athletes will be provided with a third take home workout. These workout include specialized focus in strength, speed, and mobility days. High School APT athletes are also permitted to use the ISA weight room during open gym hours.

The point of the weekly routine is to help athletes understand the process of workouts vs recovery and being efficient with their time when outside of ISA. The routine is built under the assumption that each APT athlete is fully attending team practices and the standard weekend performance training within the walls of ISA.

Developed and overseen by Certified Strength Coach (CSCS) Tanner Gussert and Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM) Ryan Fritze, this program will push athletes to become more powerful, faster, and stronger.

Possibly the best part of the program is watching the kids own their development. It makes them build a routine while balancing school, ISA practices, extracurricular activities, and proper rest/recovery. Not only does it push them physically but adds responsibility to work in groups, be consistent, and on time.

Advanced Performance Training (APT) is for both baseball and softball athletes.

Each session lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes.
